Steam News Update + New CS Source Models
Congratulations to Dangerous Waters for being recognized as IGN's Game of the Month. You can head over here to read their writeup. To check out Dangerous Waters or Space Empires 4 Deluxe as soon as they are available, preload and pre-purchase them before next Tuesday and take advantage of the preorder discount. This offer will expire next week when the games go live.
We mentioned last week that we'd be giving people a sneak peek at the two new models coming to Counter-Strike: Source this month, and hopefully these don't disappoint. Here are the new SAS and Leet Crew posing for the camera.

CS Source + DoD Source News Update!
It appears that the response to this week's release of the Counter-Strike: Source map Militia has been overwhelmingly positive, and we hope the community is having fun playing it. We're also planning on including two new player models, one from each side, to choose from on each side in the next major Counter-Strike: Source release.
Next week we'll be releasing the new map for Day of Defeat: Source, named Kalt, which we mentioned a couple of weeks ago. Playtesting internally has wrapped up on the map (although we're still playing daily), and we're expecting this sixth map to be one of the more popular releases we've done so far. Also, there will be a Day of Defeat: Source retail box available at software retailers around the start of February. As with all of our games, expect more updates and more content to keep coming.
Click Here to view a high-res screenshot of Kalt.

Steam News Update!!!
"With the release of the map Militia looming for Counter-Strike: Source, we wanted to give the community a sneak peek at what the conversion will look like. As you can see, this new version of Militia is visually a dramatic departure from the previous version. There have also been a few changes to the way the map plays, which should make for some interesting matches.
We'd also like to point people in the direction of the Dystopia team, who last week did a major release of their popular Source MOD of the same name. Head on over to the Dystopia website to download their latest version.

On a side note, there is word from Doug Lombardi, that HL2: Aftermath, the sequel to the already award-winning series, is currently set for an April 24th/2006 release date over steam. At the same time, a Platinum edition will also be released which is said to include: "HL2, HL2 DM, CS: Source, DoD: Source, and Aftermath." (All in one package over steam).
Quote: Doug Lombardi
"We're currently targeting April 24th for the release of both Aftermath and Platinum.
Platinum will include HL2, HL2 DM, CS: Source, DoD: Source, and Aftermath."
Interesting and nice news for HL2 fans, lets just hope that date isn't pushed back like Valve enjoys doing time to time! :)

Steam News Update
This month we're planning map releases for both Day of Defeat: Source and Counter-Strike: Source. For Day of Defeat, we'll be releasing a completely rebuilt version of the classic map Kalt. Known as a balanced level set in winter (in German, Kalt means "cold"), Kalt is also a good choice for players who are new to Day of Defeat. For this release, there has even been some custom rendering work done in the Source engine specifically to make the snow and ice look realistic.
For Counter-Strike: Source, we'll soon be releasing Militia. This version will be a fairly major reworking of the original level, and, like the recently released Nuke, it will include HDR.
There is also now a demo available for Rag Doll Kung Fu that you can check out to see if it's the right game for you.

SiN Episodes Delayed Until Early 2006
"Replacing the early Fall 2005 release date, The official SiN Episodes website now has word that we will see the first episode, titled Emergence, in early 2006. With Ritual self-funding the title, it's pretty safe to say that we won't see a premature release this time around."
