Unreal Tournament: XMP gameplay and the speed and style of Unreal Tournament 2004.”
Unreal II: Expanded Multiplayer (often shortened to 'XMP') was released by Legend Entertainment in 2003. This free add-on for Unreal II: The Awakening combined hardcore first-person shooter gameplay with elements of vehicular combat, resource management and strategic placement of automated defenses. A strong community quickly grew around this title, with many even creating custom levels and other content for the game, however the life of this promising title was cut short with the closure of Legend Entertainment by Atari in January 2004.

Unreal Tournament: Next Unreal Engine?
HomeLan Fed has also posted their UnrealEngine GDC 3 impressions.
When we entered the Epic Games meeting room at GDC on Wednesday, we saw some pictures on the way that we thought were either some very detailed artwork or real 3D models of the characters and environments in Epic’s next game. Nope. According to what Epic folks told us, we were looking at actual in game screenshots from UnrealEngine3, the next generation game graphics engine from the Cary, NC based developer.
If you are an Unreal fanatic like most of the people I know, you'll want to give this one a read for sure.

Unreal Tournament: Unreal Engine 3 news

UnrealEngine3 is targeted at high-end DirectX9 and future GPU's and next-generation game consoles, and our focus is on absolutely realistic per-pixel lighting, with 100% dynamic shadowing everywhere, including new technology for soft dynamic shadows. The level of graphical detail and fidelity in the content we're creating is between 4 and 16 times higher than what's been seen in DirectX9 games shipping in 2004, and there are substantial qualitative improvements in the technology, based on a bottom-up rethinking of the 3D rendering architecture in light of what's now possible with DirectX9, and some even more amazing things that will become possible with GPU's, CPU's and next-generation consoles in the 2005-2006 timeframe.
That is what Tim Sweeny, CEO and head programmer of Epic games, spoke about. Homelan recently interviewed this man and details about their next generation engine seems to be very good news for the throngs of UT gamers. More details about this interview can be found here.

Unreal Tournament: UT Servers Crash Fix
This is a special patch that MUST be applied over a 451 install. Simply download the 451b patch, unzip, and copy to your UT/System folder.
This specifically addresses the vulnerability that was released earlier. We also fixed the UnrealEditor crash bug that exists in the standard 451 patch.
Again, you MUST install 451 prior to this patch and then overlay this one on top of it. This is just a "mini" patch specifically to address the vulnerabilities released earlier.

Unreal Tournament: UTPG Release Coming Soon
Well, it's been a while since we gave an update to the list so I figured it is time we updated you guys on what is going on.
We are working hard on finishing up all the lose ends inside the code and doing some internal testing to find bugs. We have a couple more issues we need to resolve before we can move to an alpha test. Things seem to be coming along nicely on the MD5 side of the code. Also completed was the editor break that happened in 451. We were able to resolve that. We have also been getting a lot of bug reports from pre-451 versions as well as in the 451 code that we have fixed as well.
